Flange insulation gasket kits Type D
The Ring Joint Insulation gaskets are manufactured in bachelized cloth reinforced phenolic material and are sized to ANSI specifications available in basic oval as well as octagonal shape. Also available are BX gaskets.
The insulation sleeve are made of various type of epoxy resin to be inserted in the hole for the bolts; The insulation washer are made of bachelized cloth or epoxy resin; metallic washer are made of galvanized steel, or in stainless steel on request.
Type “D” Flange Insulating Gasket Kit is designed to use ring-type-joint flanges with one insulation gasket suitable for fit into the ring groove, an insulation sleeve for each bolt, a couple of insulating and steel washers for each bolt.
Ring type joint insulation kits comprise of an oval insulating ring type joint gasket and are suitable for standard RTJ flanges.The illustration clearly shows how the opposing flanges are totally insulated from each other.For use on standard Ring Type Joint Flanges
Components of Type D Insulaton Gasket Kits:
- Type D Insulating Gasket – Made from materials like phenolic, neoprene-faced phenolic, or GRE (Glass Reinforced Epoxy), shaped to fit RTJ grooves.
- Insulating Sleeves – Typically made from Mylar, Nomex, or phenolic material to isolate bolts.
- Insulating Washers – Made from similar materials as the sleeves for additional electrical isolation.
- Metallic Washers – zinc-coated steel or stainless steel
