UNS N06617 Round bar Manufacturer
INCONEL® alloy 617 (UNS N06617/W.Nr. 2.4663a) is a nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloy with excellent mechanical properties at high temperatures, and the alloy has high temperature corrosion resistance, such as oxidation and carbonization. The alloy has the ability to resist corrosion in hot corrosion areas such as vulcanization environments, especially in oxidation and carbonization environments with cycles up to 1100°C. These corrosion resistances, combined with excellent mechanical properties, make this alloy particularly suitable for use in high-temperature applications. In addition, the high nickel, chromium and molybdenum content gives the alloy good corrosion resistance in most erosion media.

B166 N06617 Mechanical Property

Inconel 617 Heat treatment
Heat Treatment INCONEL alloy 617 is normally used in the solution annealed condition. That condition provides a coarse grain structure for the best creep-rupture strength. It also provides the best bend ductility at room temperature. Solution annealing is performed at a temperature of 2150°F (1175°C) for a time commensurate with section size. Cooling should be by water quenching or rapid air cooling.
Why N06617 ?
High temperature stability: N06617 alloy is stable up to 1200°C. The nickel and chromium content enhance the oxidation resistance of the alloy, allowing it to maintain good mechanical properties even when continuously exposed to high temperatures.
High temperature strength: N06617 has good short-term and long-term mechanical properties at temperatures up to 1100°C. At 1000°C, its tensile strength is 210MPa, showing the ability to maintain high strength at high temperatures.
Carburizing resistance: At high temperatures up to 1100°C, N06617 has excellent carburizing resistance, which is especially important for applications in carbon-containing environments.
Corrosion resistance: N06617 alloy exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and maintains good corrosion resistance in both acidic and alkaline environments. The presence of elements such as chromium makes N06617 excellent in a variety of corrosive media.
Hot Corrosion Resistance: In hot corrosion fields such as vulcanized environments, especially in cyclic oxidation and carbonization environments up to 1100°C, N06617 has excellent corrosion resistance and creep properties.
Acid resistance: N06617 has good corrosion resistance to strong acids such as sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, etc., and can be used for a long time in acidic environments.
High strength and toughness: N06617 exhibits excellent strength and toughness under a range of stresses, making this alloy advantageous in a variety of applications that require high tensile strength and fatigue resistance.
Creep resistance: N06617 has good creep resistance, which makes it an ideal material choice in high temperature and high pressure environments.
Welding performance: N06617 has good weldability, and the commonly used welding methods include TIG welding, MIG welding and arc welding, etc., to ensure the quality and performance of welded joints.
