What is Sermagard 1105?
SermaGard 1105 Ceramic – Metal Composite Coating
SermaGard 1105 is a high – performance coating system designed to provide excellent corrosion protection and UV resistance. It is suitable for a variety of industrial applications, especially for metal components and fasteners in harsh environments.
SermaGard 1105 is a ceramic – metal composite coating. It uses an aluminum – filled base coat combined with a resin – bonded fluoropolymer top coat to provide excellent protection. This coating system can provide 3000 to 4000 hours of corrosion resistance in salt spray tests, making it highly suitable for marine and chemical environments. It can withstand temperatures up to 1200°F (approximately 649°C), making it applicable for high – temperature applications. The base coat has good adhesion to the metal surface, ensuring long – term stable protection. This coating exhibits a low coefficient of friction under both dynamic and static conditions, improving mechanical efficiency.
Application of SermaGard 1105:
SermaGard 1105 is widely used in offshore drilling, chemical, and petrochemical facilities to provide reliable corrosion protection. It is suitable for various metal fasteners such as bolts, nuts, and washers, ensuring durability in harsh environments. It can be used for metal components in heavy machinery and equipment to resist corrosion and wear.
SermaGard 1105 is specially used in below Environments
High – Temperature Environments: Since SermaGard 1105 can withstand temperatures up to 1200°F, it is particularly suitable for equipment and components that need to operate in high – temperature environments.
Corrosive Environments: SermaGard 1105 has excellent corrosion resistance, so it can be used in places such as chemical equipment and marine drilling equipment where corrosive environments may be encountered.
Marine Drilling and Chemical Facilities: The SermaGard 1105/1280 coating system has been widely used in major marine drilling, chemical, and petrochemical facilities in the United States and globally.
Protective Coatings: SermaGard 1105 can serve as a protective coating to provide protection in extremely corrosive and high – temperature environments.
SermaGard 1280
SermaGard 1280 is a silver metallic resin bonded fluorocarbon coating designed for application over SermaGard basecoat or Zinc electroplating pretreatment. Considered a topcoat, or sealer, 1280 extends corrosion protection in moist and high salt environments. This topcoat can be applied over SermaGard aluminum basecoat for offshore applications requiring outstanding salt corrosion protection and UV resistance. This composite coating has a peak operating temperature of up to 450°F and meets several automotive, oil, and gas specifications.
SermaGard1105 base coat + 1280 top coat system provides excellent salt corrosion protection for fasteners and components used in offshore and subsea operations at offshore drilling, chemical and petrochemical facilities. SermaGard coatings also provide corrosion, heat and chemical resistance for a wide range of automotive, construction and industrial applications.
