What is Xylan 1070?
Xylan (coating) is a fluoropolymer-based industrial coating, it is applied in a thin film to the target material to improve its durability and non-stick properties. Xylan® is known as a registered brand name for a type of fluoropolymer coating. Developed, trademarked, and marketed by the Whitford Worldwide Company (which PPG acquired in 2019)
According to the introduction by PPG,Xylan® 1000 Series coating is for High Temperature and Low Friction purpose.
Xylan 1070: Solvent-borne, resin bonded high temperature resistant dry film with additional corrosion inhibitors, formulated for use on threaded components to deliver a wide range of performance characteristics in multiple industrial applications.
One of the main benefits is its high working temperature of up to 260°C – the highest of any fluoroplastic. However, it does not melt when heated so is considered difficult to process.

You can find the TDS (Technical data sheet )of Xylan 1070 coating as below.Xylan 1070 can be applied as the top coating with Zinc plating or Zinc nickel plating as primer coating.(base coating)
Zinc Plating +Xylan 1070 could have good anti-rust performance,and it is verifed that,it can stand over 1500 hours of salt spray testing According to ASTM B117.
Zinc Nickel plating +Xylan 1070 could have a better anti-rust performance,it can stand over 3000 hours of salt spray testing According to ASTM B117. Of course,the cost would higher.
If you want to have the best anti-rust performance coatings.We would like to recommend Xylar coating (normally Xylar 2)as primer coating,then xylan 1070 as top coating.
Xylar 2 +Xylan 1070 could have a better anti-rust performance,it can stand over 5000 hours of salt spray testing According to ASTM B117. Of course.
