A182 F12 Flanges Heat Treatment Requirements
- Normalize and Temper:
- Austenitizing temperature: 1650∘F(900∘C).
- Cooling media: Air cool (after normalizing).
- Tempering temperature: 1150∘F(620∘C).
Additionally, after hot working, forgings should be cooled to a temperature below 1000∘F(538∘C) before heat treatment to meet the requirements.
